Our founders were primarily radio broadcasters with large hearts. Today we are the biggest private donor to humanitarian NGOs in Switzerland.

While donating money is pretty much the standard these days, that hasn’t always been the case. Find out about some rather original collections.

Our success story began 73 years ago. On 26 September 1946 Swiss Solidary conducted its first campaign to raise money for children suffering from the effects of the war. Many years have since passed, during which the organization has developed and changed beyond recognition.

In our annual report and financial statement we give transparent and detailed information on how your donations have been used and the impact they have had. Thank you for displaying solidarity!  

At its meeting in June, our Foundation Council appointed 43-year-old Roland Thomann to replace Tony Burgener as director. Mr Thomann, who is from Zurich, takes over the position from January 2020, when the current director retires.
