One month ago, we launched a call for donations regarding Afghanistan.Since then, we have received 3 million Swiss francs in donations to help a population in critical need. The situation in Afghanistan remains overwhelming and the humanitarian needs are still soaring.Despite the situation, with your support it is still possible to help the Afghan people. Our partner organisations are currently analysing local conditions to provide the most effective assistance.

The needs of the Afghan humanitarian crisis:

The collapse of basic services in the country is causing humanitarian needs to soar. The figures are alarming for the Afghan population, and the primary victims of the crisis remain women and children.

– According to the UN, the survival of the 15.7 million vulnerable people depends on the ability of the humanitarian community to receive sufficient financial resources.

– Today, almost half of the population is in need – 18 million people

– Afghanistan already has hundreds of unaccompanied children.

With our partner NGOs, hope remains

Despite the overwhelming situation, there is hope through our partner NGOs. Some, like Medair and Doctors Without Borders, already have an extensive experience on the ground in Afghanistan and know in what way to adapt to provide effective and sustainable aid. While we continue our analysis of project requests, our partner organisations are already working on the ground to identify what is needed and are providing basic aid such as medical care and cash distribution.

Nearly 3 million francs raised

To date, we have received more than CHF 3 million. Given the critical situation, your donation makes a big difference. We continue to call for help for the people of Afghanistan and thank you for your support.
