Emergency Appeals Alliance

Together we can achieve more. That is why we have joined forces with similar-minded organizations throughout the world.

Joint forces

By joining forces, we can achieve more than if we operate alone. This is no less true when it comes to fundraising for the victims of humanitarian disasters; joint appeals and partnerships with the media and private sector bring real benefits.

This is why we teamed up in 2008 with organizations that are similar to ours in structure and the way they function. The result was the «Emergency Appeals Alliance» (EAA). Its members are ten organizations from Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Shared aims

The aim of this alliance is to share experiences and findings from national and jointly launched appeals, and in joining forces, to have greater negotiating power.

In addition to sharing knowledge and experience on issues such as joint fundraising appeals, best practices in humanitarian aid and good organizational management, we want to become established as a contact point for global media and the private sector.

“With this alliance, we represent hundreds of thousands of donors in Europe, Japan and Canada. Together we can improve the aid we provide, be more accountable to donors and increase our global weight in the humanitarian field.”
Catherine Baud-Lavigne, Deputy Managing Director of Swiss Solidarity
